First Attempt
Building the Armature:
The Armature consisted of- cardboard, wire, tinfoil and newspaper

Drew out templates of the dinosaur's body on cardboard

Used wires to join the cardboard templates together

Bulked out the abdomenal area with newspaper and covered the rest of the armature with tinfoil
I used super sculpey - Beige- I would use the grey sculpey for future projects because it was hard to make out the high frequency details. Same goes for sculpting in 3D- the best material to sculpt in Zbrush is Matcap Grey.
At the end, I've decided to disassemble the first sculpt because I did not like the look of the bulky neck.

Second Attempt
I just made another armature from scratch, this time I wanted to make the limb armature sturdy and stronger by coiling wire around the existing wire limb.

Templates with superficial muscle landmarks

New armature with stronger limbs and head. Adopted the idea of the wooden dinosaur skeletion puzzles to build the head.

Adding newspaper underneath to bulk out the abdomenal area.

Covered it with tinfoil, so the clay holds on to the armature better.

Sculpting Process
The sculpting method was mainly, flattening out the clay like dough with a rolling pin and cutting it into shapes according to the cardboard templates I made, with the muscle landmarks.
As I was adding more clay, it turned out super bulky, so shaved off the thick areas.

Latest look
Just adding the details step by step- building up wrinkles around the appropriate areas also added more details to the head.
I'm planning to add the toes during the later stage of the sculpt, just before adding the scales/high frequency details, because the toes can deform as you constantly make changes to the sculpt (placing it back down and up again for example)

Update: The feet are done, next will be working on scales and skin detail.

Next, I'll continue with adding high frequency details, bake it and then paint it.
